All But My Life...characters point of view

Dear Gerda,
I honestly don't understand why you didn't leave. I know you stayed here for me, but I would much rather you know that as a friend I would feel a whole lot better if I knew that you were safe and away from here, and not with me. who wants to die like this? who wants to burn or get shot in a camp for not doing something right? who wants to sit back and watch close ones that they love die or know that they've died? No One! Gerda you've been through enough pain, so just go and live your life free! get away from here. I understand why you didn't want to go but if it was me and I had the opportunity to leave I probably would have made special arrangements for you to come but even though you didn't do that i still respect the fact that you thought of me. Gerda your my best friend and I love you, but do this one favor for me....and go

All But My Life

In the first 70 pages of All But My Life, the stage of genocide shown is symbolization. Symbolization is when one or more groups are being recognized by something. In this case the Jews are being recognized by the Star of David.  For example one day Gerda was on her way to a friend’s house, and she was wearing “a white dress that was too short, and pinned to her was the star of David” (Klein, 1995), since the Jews wore the Star of David on their arm it’s kind of like a sign that’s letting everyone else know that they are Jews which limits the Jews to doing a lot of things they used to do in everyday life before the war, “since the Jews were not allowed on buses we had an hour’s walk in the bitter cold” (Klein,1995). These examples qualify because it states how the Jewish people were symbolized during the holocaust and it shows how they couldn’t get away with anything because if they tried they would be killed which was why they had to wear the Star of David on their arm so they stand out from the non-Jews.

Research Organization Paper

I. Topic sentence:
How to stop Genocide? And turn the child soldiers into to what they have intended to be

A. Supporting detail 1:
What happens once they are out of the war?

1)    Example/more details
War Child have given children the opportunity for education, and to be set apart from the life that they once had.

2) Explanation of example and how it makes this a good choice of aid agency:

The lady who founded the organization saw everything that they child soldiers are going through and what the people are suffering, she says that when she went to Baidoa, Samolia it was referred as the “City of Death” because all you saw was women in clinics holding dead bodies and young men walking around with rocket launcher. Since at the time her agency was very little she was put in a unsafe place, and from her being their she wanted to help and rescue child soldiers from the war, and educate them.
B. Supporting detail 2:
She started small and got big in the worse parts of the world

1) Example//more details:
It states that Samantha traveled to different countries, and saw nothing but war, and she said that “These experiences have given her a unique insight into the brutality of modern conflict” which means when most people think of war they don’t think of children fighting and killing recklessly any person that walks by, her eyes were opened to something new.

2) Explanation of example and how it makes this a good choice of aid agency:

An example is with her uncompromising and powerful advocacy for justice and peace; Dr.Nutt is one of the most sought after public speakers. She has inspired thousands of people across the continent to see global conflict as a problem that can and must be solved. What makes this organization a good choice is that she didn’t just research what each country was about she actually went there and became a speaker to end it

C. Concluding sentence(s)
War child is a good organization, especially of women that cares to know more about all the worst possible things that is going on in the world. This is why I chose this organization.

Genocide or Not in Syria?

The war that was going on in Syria, I believe was a genocide. even though in one of  the articles I had read about it was that Syria hasn't fully came to decide on whether it was a genocide or not, and then you have the killers denying that everything that had happened happen. Its a genocide i think when one or more groups are being killed off to in a sense "make the country better". so I think what happened in Syria is a genocide even though the killers are denying it.

Who's the Blame for Rwanda genocide

I think the ones who are to blame was the rebels, because everyone was trying to hide mainly from them to keep from gettting killed i also blame the and the hutu because after the president was killed there was tension between the 2 ethnic groups and how they are in charge.

Defiance post 3

In the movie defiance the guy who was labeled guilty, was labeled that because he was a german guy who had killed other jews. and may have killed one of those peoples family member. and they decided to treat him how they treat the jews which is unfair and not treating them like they belong to anything. the appropriate response for the WWII against nazi germany would have been bearing arms, because Zus in the movie didnt actually come through to help and save lives till almost the end of the war, and i think that if Zus army or his group of men would have joined with Truvia's group it would have made them feel more confident and they wouldn't have lost so many people because of the heavy duty weapons that Zus had. So i thought they should have beared arms.Genocide is a heavy matter, and its a war for people and their lives. the government should respond to genocide quickly and try to stop it before it gets really out of hand like it did in nazi, germany. the government shouldn't even let it get as far as its been getting.

Defiance post 2

People should be free to do what they want...but  not in a bad way. however in the movie defiance truvia brother had said women dont need guns, because they protect them. i go by half of that i believe that anyone who believe they have the right to fight should even the women. it kind of seemed like in the beginning he thought that women would bring the group down. but now since the woman are fighting and learning how to shoot like the men i think its fair because they arent making it strict their making it for anyone who wants to fight and if you dont then you have to work
